Organic Hair Care is a growing trend amongst the upper middle class. Shoppers have become more educated and made the decision to support green living in a permanent way. Todays commercial soaps and shampoos have many harsh and toxic chemicals in their formulations. This site exists to help educate people about the effects of the chemicals and to show them great organic hair products to replace them with. Should you come across a great product or have a great story, please send contributions to admin@organichaircare.org

Leek woman with natural hair. If that's not organic, I do not know what is.

Pure Soap

The purest of the commercial soaps has always been given to Ivory (99.44%). Their marketing is genius. The company is known for being pure, clean, and it even floats.

Organic and natural soaps are the purest soaps of all because they have the least amount of ingredients. In my estimation, whoever uses the least ingredients is more pure. In addition, synthetic chemicals don't strike me as pure.

Pure soap is made of lye, water, and organic oils. To make the soap antibacterial, sulfur or tea tree oil can be added.

One of the main benefits of natural soap is soap therapy. I'll bet you haven't heard of that one before. Great soaps can be aromatic, moisturizing and come with a nice relaxing bath. They can be therapeutic. Why would you want to waste that on something that harshly dries out your skin and is filled with contaminants to increase profit margins. Organic soaps are basically an art and they also make it more fun in the bathroom.
